It can be very gratifying to get up early and begin the day by basking in the silence and peace of the rising sun.  The only noise that you are likely to hear is the singing of birds as the rest the rest of the neighbourhood will typically be silent.  While most people do not enjoy weeding, even kneeling in the solid is satisfying at this hour.

Handing weeding is doubtless one of the most effective ways to remove weed from your plot, but there is an alternative method that as long been used by numerous cultures.  This is by using a hoe.  In recent times there has been a significant modification made to the more traditional hoes design.  The Winged Weeder is one new model that has recent caught my attention.

Unlike a typical hoe, the Winged Weeder consists of a flat metal piece in a triangular dart.  This unit is designed to push and pull through soil, rather chop or hoe it.  In the process the Winded Weeder slices weed off just beneath the surface of the soil.  The surface weed can be left to remain on the surface where they sun will dry them out with a matter of hours, especially if the weeds are still very young.  As an alternative, following your weeding session you can rake these weeds up and throw them in your compost.

Weeding with a Winged Weeder tends to be most effective when addressing weeds that are young as these tend to be a lot easier to slice.  You can keep the cutting edge of your blades strong, however, by using a sharpening stone on the Winged Weeder periodically.

This unit has "wings" on each side of the tool that end at points.  These allow you to cut very close to your flowers or vegetables without causing any damage.  This is certainly not a feature that is present in a regular hoe.

If you keep a weeder on hand when you inspect or enjoy your yard or garden it will always be easy to spot weeds and to root them out before they are able to establish a foothold in your personal sanctuary.

Weeding on a regular basis will allow you to keep your garden free of weed without having to use herbicides.  This is something that I believe should be a goal of everyone.

The Winged Weeder, traveling sprinkler units and cultivators that are gas-powered are all indispensable gardening tools which will allow you get optimal results from your gardening effort.  It should be pleasant to work in your yard or garden.  If you do not enjoy hoeing or weeding, you may need to simply purchase a few basic tools that will help to make the task more pleasurable for you.

Now off to look for an All Season Heated Birdbath
